I
was born in the USA, but "moved" to Peru when I was a month old. I grew
up in the jungles of Peru and graduated from High School there. Dallas,
TX was home for my college and early work years (Solar Energy). Married
in 1983, my wife, Cathy, and I returned to Peru for a three year period
to serve with the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL). We returned to
the USA for a three year time period for further training and to join
SIL. In 1991 our family moved to Papua New Guinea (PNG). Cathy and I
have 7 children, aged 23 to 10. I was
first licensed in Peru, and then worked up through the USA system to
KO4CB. When I went to PNG, I applied for a reciprocal license with
PANGTEL, the Radio Authority here. In
PNG, I serve as a volunteer worker in Administration, Communication and
Crisis Management with SIL, an organization which focuses on
Linguistics, Literacy and Bible Translation. My family and I hope to
return to PNG in July-08 for a short term. Blessings, and 73, Norm, KO4CB / P29NB |
